中國市場或將成為《Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets》最後救星

耗資兩億美元打造，由法國名導 Luc Besson 監製及導演的話題新作《Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets》，儘管對外宣稱目前已經回本，然而這部備受期待的科幻動作片在全球票房不如預期卻也是鐵一般的事實。北美上映首週與《Dunkirk》強碰的結果下，讓《Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets》首週只拿下 1,700 萬美元，成績甚至比 Luc Besson 前作《Lucy》還低，這也讓製作團隊將最後希望放在全球僅次於北美的中國市場，同時本片還有在中國人氣爆燈的歌手吳亦凡出演加持，也讓發行商對《Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets》的中國票房信心滿滿。Luc Besson 在先前受訪時曾提到，《Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets》的全球票房至少要達到 3.5 億美元才有籌拍續集的可能，換句話說這個 28 世紀的星際冒險故事未來能否延續，就端看中國票房的成績能否一飛沖天而決定。
