Killer Mike Drops ‘Epilogue’ Album ‘Songs for Sinners & Saints’
“For me, this is a testimonial.”
Killer Mike released his first album in over a decade, MICHAEL, last year. The project served as the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s R.A.P. Music.
The rapper has now returned with another album, Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival: Songs For Sinners & Saints. The project spans 10 songs and is being billed as an “epilogue” to the MICHAEL LP.
Songs For Sinners & Saints draws from Mike’s experience of growing up in the church. He dedicated his last album to his late mother, Denise, who passed away in 2017.
“For me, this is a testimonial. When I was growing up an important part of church service was people having the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony on their trials, tribulations, and triumphs,” Mike said. “After the celebratory atmosphere that followed MICHAEL I was reminded that tribulations never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimonial of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph in spite of doubt, outright hate, and fear. I am here to speak to and with my fellow sinners and Saints.”
The project includes features from Offset, Blxst, Lena Byrd Miles, Troy Durden, Key Glock, Project Pat and more.
