Gap Celebrates 55th Anniversary With Classic Hoodie Collection
Dipped in the colorways of the labels original storefront in San Francisco.
This August – August 22, to be precise – marks 55 years since Gap‘s founding and the label is looking back on its storied legacy to celebrate the milestone. In a commemorative capsule consisting of crewnecks and zip-ups, Gap is reimagining its timeless “bubble logo” hoodie silhouette in shades that honor its first-ever storefront in San Francisco.
Surfacing in hues of red, yellow and blue – along with an all-black option as well – the colorways of the hoodies pay tribute to the exterior of the label’s first brick-and-mortar outpost.
As for the graphics imbued on the silhouettes, those are pulled from the Gap’s archives. Crewnecks come in yellow and blue and read “Gap 1969” across the middle in white lettering. Zip-ups, on the other hand, are stamped with red 1969 embroidery atop a Gap insignia on the front of the chest and feature a larger insignia on the back with “American classic since 1969” written on top.
