Brompton and Mappin & Webb Create the World's First Gold-Plated Folding Bike
With only two limited gold bikes created.
With the Paris Olympics 2024 kicking off today, Brompton has partnered with British jeweller Mappin & Webb, to create the world’s first gold-plated folding bike.
In a first of its kind, the expert jeweller and bike specialist Brompton have worked together to delicately hand-craft the special edition gold-plated bike. With only two limited gold bikes created, each bike is built with one ounce of gold, equivalent to nearly 24-carat yellow gold.
Additionally, in celebration of Team GB’s athletes heading to the Paris Olympics, the two bikes will be auctioned to raise money to support the British Olympic Foundation.
