With each season, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE continues to be inspired by natural movement. For Spring/Summer 2025, the collection was presented at the Mobilier National during Paris Fashion Week, this time focusing on all things wind. The collection takes notes from how wind affects the movement of kites as well as parachutes and how the billow as lightweight and sheer materials.

While HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE usually kicks off its shows with a performance, this time around, the presentation was focused only on the clothes. The first few looks saw the Japanese collaborate with Windswept Plaid for the pattern, giving a print reminiscent of bold winds. The plaid is not in a specific pattern, rather quit spontaneous, as winds would often cause fabrics to move in unexpected ways. Muted, earthy tones highlighted the collection while vibrant oranges, blues and greens broke up the minimalism of the pieces.

The collection also saw a reveal of new silhouettes, including a hooded coat in blue that stole the show with its flowing, cape-like movement and vivid tone. Similar to that of a cloak, the hooded coat was worn open, allowing for a more grandeur movement in the piece. Voluminous silhouettes took over, while highlighting their ease of wear. Seeing the pieces come to life, moving in the motion of the air truly gives them its life of its own. The wind-borne collection continues to expand HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s pleating technology, season after season.
