Maria Grazia Chiuri took Dior under Scotland’s gloomy skies to present her Cruise 2025 collection. While celebrating Dior’s journey to Mexico City last season, Chiuri returns to the brand’s roots in Scotland, staging the showcase in the angelic outdoors of the Drummond Castle gardens.

Dior hosted its first Scottish runway in 70 years, honoring its Fall/Winter 1947 show by cementing its strong ties to the United Kingdom’s Northern Isle. The grandiose spectacle put luxury in the air, with Jennifer Lawrence and Anya Taylor-Joy sitting on the FROW to enjoy Chiuri’s mystical Cruise 2025 collection.

Scottish bagpipes ignited the occasion with sentimental laments, quickly followed by the designer’s dark and moody collection, intertwined with Scotland’s eerie battle history. Scottish tartan reigned supreme across the collection, jumping from look to look with a dramatic edge. Fringed blankets were wrapped into belted interpretations with bondage-style detailing, seeing corseted versions bring medieval queens to life. Chiuri embraced Scotland’s punk-forward history, where patched windbreakers, embellished long sleeves, and voluminous skirts made a statement in dark hues.

Mary Queen of Scots’ influential political stance was present in eye-catching embroidery, bedazzling graphic tees, pearlescent tops, and accessorized poplin dresses drenched in rock n’ roll flair. Round-shouldered blazers and miniature quilted shorts clashed with rebellion, ushered in by cutout argyle sweaters revealing sensual pockets of skin. Chiuri’s collaborative outlook was alive and well in Scotland, joining forces with local cashmere experts Johnstons of Elgin and Esk Cashmere across cozy patterned knitwear. Robert Mackie fabricated garnished veils and zippered headgear, while Dior enlisted Samantha McCoach for one-of-one kilt designs.
