Alexandre Mattiussi Envisions Romantic French Wardrobes for AMI SS25

“I wanted to bring people together with an idea of joy and easy elegance. It’s not about fashion; it’s about attitude, it’s about who you are, how confident you are, how beautiful you want to look.”

Alexandre Mattiussi‘s AMI is the epitome of chic. The French co-ed label walks on romantic lines, dressing Parisians to the nines in elevated luxury goods. AMI is tapping into your wardrobe for Spring/Summer 2025, uplifting everyday looks with French elegance.

Mattiussi closed the third day of Paris Fashion Week with a bang, opening the doors to a disheveled building in the Saint-Germain neighborhood. The three-story venue was breaking at the seams with peeling walls that unfurled the carcass beneath. The charming space was jammed with old-school French tunes, setting the tone for the looks to come.

“I wanted to emulate the feeling of “my home.” I wanted to bring people together with an idea of joy and easy elegance. It’s not about fashion; it’s about attitude, it’s about who you are, how confident you are, how beautiful you want to look; to give a bit of classic, easy, fresh elegance without trying too hard,” Mattiussi tells Hypebeast backstage.

In true AMI fashion, the collection was kept sleek and refined while oozing with wearability for the everyday. Shirt dresses were crafted in see-through linen with gilded accents matched with rounded accessories for women, while men received sleeveless shirting opened at the chest. Collarless suiting was jazzed up with flared bottoms packed with movement, followed by structured checkered tops that go from day to night. Minimalistic slim belts tied together Canadian tuxedos, while oversized trench coats donned exaggerated lapels to elevate your look.

“Sometimes in fashion, we want to be seen and observed as designers; I’m not a designer; I’m just creating clothes for people to make them happy. It’s not about me; it’s about sharing and making people happy.” Mattiussi’s cheerful attitude was present in pale yellow ruffled dresses ideal for the incoming summertime, while brown-toned suits were elevated with mismatched trousers and bold shoulder bags. AMI dresses casual city-goers in bleached denim and pop-collared outwear for a metropolitan look, rounding things off with a trio of striking red uniforms that brightened the collection.

“I want to not think too hard and enjoy it. We have grown a lot in the last few years, and it’s getting big. We now have 650 people and 70 stores around the world. It’s getting big, so I’m trying to find the time to enjoy and have fun. We spend our lives in our jobs, so having fun with it is so important.”
