Duke+Dexter Enters a New Era With Its First Ever Apparel Line
In this exclusive first look, the British footwear brand takes inspiration from white-knuckle driving for a new line of vintage graphic T-shirts.
British footwear label Duke+Dexter has just unveiled its first-ever apparel capsule — and it’s a collection for those chasing the adrenaline of white-knuckle driving.
D+D’s approach to footwear design has always focused on intricacy and class, with its Penny Loafer becoming a mainstay for streetwear and contemporary fashion heads alike. This same ethos has been encapsulated in the imprint’s first apparel line, with the entirely unisex collection presenting itself as an elevated take on what Duke+Dexter believes “garments should and could be.”
The entire line is focused on custom graphics made by D+D’s in-house design team, taking inspiration from vintage motorsport decals. This aesthetic is highlighted most by the distressed front and rear-facing designs, while the oversized and slightly boxy silhouettes provide enhanced comfortability and proportions that can be easily partnered with a slew of separate garments.
Meanwhile, D+D also uses water-based screen-printing, while organic vegetable and mineral dyes are used for the designs to ensure sustainability stays at the forefront of the design process.
Rounding off the collection, a new line of Penny Loafers is also included. Presenting three pairs, each silhouette features a unique and vibrant graphic, from hot flames to checkerboard patterns across the smooth uppers. The rest of the shoe is then taken over by black along the laterals, medials, and heel counters, while speckles of raised stitched detailing add a final splash of character.
You can take a closer look at the new collection from Duke+Dexter above and be sure to shop the capsule via the official D+D website from April 25.
