Spotify Launches AI DJ Feature Across UK and Ireland

Featuring a dynamic AI-created DJ host.

Spotify has launched its new AI DJ across the UK and Ireland, which recognizes your listening habits and recommends new songs for you using artificial intelligence.

The concept was originally announced by Spotify in February when it unveiled its new AI DJ feature and described it as a “personalized AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you.”

Now, developers at Spotify have officially confirmed further details on the AI DJ feature and have announced that it has been launched in the UK and Ireland following an increased demand in these locations.

As per Spotify, the new AI feature is all about “connection and discovery,” and it runs through a combination of personalization technology along with OpenAI tech that’s controlled by Spotify’s music experts. Additionally, the new feature also includes a dynamic voice for the host/DJ which has been created using AI, too.

An official update from Spotify following the introduction of the new feature read: “When we were deciding where to offer DJ next, the UK and Ireland just made sense. We have a team of local music experts on the ground in the region, and it’s where some of DJ’s fundamental technology has been developed.”

Spotify’s new DJ feature is currently rolling out in beta and will be available for all Premium users. In other music news, Summer Walker has just released a new EP.
