adidas Spezial Explores the Rugged Outdoors with Stephen Graham for Pre-Spring '23 Collection

Fits coming in so hot they’re at ‘Boiling Point.’

adidas Spezial has returned to unveil its Pre-Spring 2023 capsule, a collection packed with functional cues and timeless styles that takes inspiration from the great outdoors.

Over recent times, adidas’ Spezial umbrella has enlisted various figures in UK culture that encapsulate what the brand stands for — pure Britishness with a rugged edge. For example, Liam Gallagher has been a close collaborator of the brand, presenting fresh iterations of the classic SPZL sneaker, while Peter Saville has added Joy Division elements to iconic adi shoes, too. Now, adidas Spezial has tapped British actor, Stephen Graham, best known for his role in the iconic British movie, This Is England, to feature in its new campaign.

Coming with a selection of footwear installments, the collection features six unique silhouettes. Starting with the Hochelaga SPZL — which made its first appearance in 2016 — the sneaker is designed with a navy color scheme, while yellow stripes, inspired by the vintage adidas Montreal, hit the lateral side.

Alongside this, the collection welcomes a reissued Hochelaga Super, constructed with a white leather build with navy and red stripes. Additionally, the Hartness SPZL takes inspiration from 1980s runners with an upper pattern that taps the all-weather adidas HRC with an improved heel clip. Another footwear highlight comes in the form of the Arkesden SPZL which blends classic Campus tooling with an upper pattern. Dressed with a rich brown suede upper, it sits atop a dark cupsole with contrasting flock stripes.

Moving to apparel, the collection features high-quality outerwear pieces, such as the Feniscowles Jacket and the Kearsley Jacket, which are complemented with technical pockets crafted from 100% recycled polyester construction. Similarly, the Kearsley Jacket fronts a two-tone orange colorway in a 100% recycled polyamide construction.

Rounding off the collection, adidas Spezial has also included a selection of T-shirts and polos, while accessories — including a new Feniscowles Hat — feature adjustable ear flaps and 100% recycled polyester material makeup.

You can take a closer look at the new collection from adidas Spezial above and it will be available on the official adidas website and with select retailers from February 10.
