Hennessy and cHIP sHOP Celebrate 50 Years of Hip-Hop With Exclusive Collaboration
Launching with an event headlined by grime legend, Ghetts.
Hennessy has just launched its month-long collaboration with Brixton’s cHIP sHOP to champion rising artists who are keeping the heartbeat of hip-hop alive.
The partnership launched last night with a VIP launch event that saw performances from a selection of artists who represent their generation of hip-hop. The event was headlined by grime legend, Ghetts, with the MOBO Award-winning artist being joined by the likes of Jords, Trumendous, South Norwood DJ and rapper Benny Mails, and Brixton-born poet and MC, Amy True.
Additionally, guests of the event were also treated to a first taste of “Hennessy Hot Wings,” a “Henny-infused” hot wing, paired with Cherry Rewind Hennessy V.S cocktails.
The specially selected performers are all respected UK torch-bearers of the now 50-year-old genre of hip-hop, with the genre being born in an apartment building in The Bronx, New York City, half a century ago. Since then, the genre has evolved into a chart-topping multi-million dollar worldwide industry.
Hennessy’s latest partnership with cHIP sHOP celebrates this, with the campaign heading to Brixton to pay homage to the community, respect the past, rep the present, and look to the future.
You can take a look at what went down at the Hennessy x cHIP sHOP event above and for those who missed the launch, the collaboration will continue into November with a series of special shows, celebrating the newest stars of hip-hop from the UK and beyond. Additionally, the exclusive “Henny Hot Wings” and “Cherry Rewind” cocktails will be available at cHIP sHOP from October 5.
