Marking a second collaboration, English heritage brand Barbour and Italian utility wear brand C.P. Company have revealed two new waxed jackets, available in a total of five different colorways. The collaboration also consists of a limited edition component, with 25 “re-loved” Barbour jackets to be made available through a charity raffle.

The new collection sees the combination of C.P. Company’s military-inspired aesthetics with Barbour’s classic waxed cotton fabric, offering a blend of iconic elements from both brands. One notable piece from this collaboration is the Barbour x C.P. Company Creel Wax Jacket, which marries the design of Barbour’s Bedale wax jacket with C.P. Company’s Mille Jacket, adorned with C.P.’s signature watch lens and goggles, along with functional features like wrap-around flap pockets and a detachable hood.

Inspiration for the color palette used in the collection is said to come from native sheep breeds like Shetland and Manx Loaghtan, whose wool lends earthy black and charcoal hues to the collection. Of course, this isn’t the case for the vibrant orange jacket, that particular piece is said to be inspired by natural plant dyes and is exclusively showcased via the Creel Wax Jacket.

Another highlight is the Barbour x C.P. Company TC Explorer Wax Jacket, a nod to C.P. Company’s classic Explorer Jacket, crafted from Barbour’s quintessential 8oz waxed cotton.

The collection also ventures into sustainable fashion with the inclusion of 25 limited edition “re-loved” Barbour jackets. These jackets are available via a raffle on C.P.s’s official site, with proceeds from these unique jackets directly benefiting the World Land Trust charity, an environmental conservation group.

Ian Bergin, the Director of Menswear at Barbour, and Paul Harvey, Designer at C.P. Company, both expressed their satisfaction with the collaboration, highlighting the seamless fusion of iconic designs, practical functionality and a shared ethos of innovation that has resulted in what they believe to be instant classics in the world of outerwear.

“Both brands have created truly iconic products which are based on their use and practicality and throughout the years become recognized as great products spanning generations and tastes. Massimo Osti created a design language condensing militaria and service garments into a recognizable design signature,” said Bergin, adding “Barbour has always developed products geared to protecting the wearer against the uncertain weather conditions of living by the North Sea and has a rich industrial past and still manufactures today in the North-East of England. Working with the C.P. Company team is always a pleasure and in this collaboration, we have developed pieces which are in some ways instant classics.”

The complete Barbour x C.P. Company collaborative collection is set to be released on October 19, through both Barbour and C.P. Company’s official sites, with retail pricing yet to be announced at the time of writing.
