YMC Wants You to Slow Down and Enjoy Mother Nature for SS23
Looking to the laidback lifestyle of the ’60s.
Following its motorcycle-inspired collaboration with Barbour International, British label YMC is preparing to debut its Spring/Summer 2023 collection inspired by the laidback lifestyle of the ’60s hippie movement.
Co-founders Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins wish to celebrate the nature-loving mentality hosted at the time, while shining a light on handmade craftsmanship and sustainable practices. The first seasonal drop is splashed with dim-lit earth tones that reflect working in alfresco settings alongside environmental patterns taken from Mother Nature. Monogram leaf and floral designs land on denim bottoms and staple cardigans, while striped rugby tops reflect YMC’s U.K. roots.
Checkered outerwear is layered with collarless zip-ups and shirting fashioned with blooming botanical illustrations. Sustainable textiles are used throughout the collection, seeing the brand repurpose aged garments into something new. In addition, loose-fitting ruffled dresses sit next to over-dyed workwear jackets and denim ensembles embroidered with miniature floral scenes.

In other news, Norse Projects’ first SS23 drop is designed for elegant explorers.
