Magnus Ronning is changing the influencer world and the connotations that come with it, using his style-centric platform to build out the dream of his own eponymous brand, Ronning. So far this year, Ronning has worked with Carmen Boyd on a homeware collection and has dropped a signature shirt fit for summer, while also making an increasing effort with its mainline clothing, and now Ronning’s collaboration with Solovair is returning for Fall/Winter 2022.

Solovair is the modern-day output of the Northamptonshire-based footwear manufacturer NPS Shoes, which was founded in 1881. To this day, Solovair produces its shoes largely by hand, cutting, closing and lasting every single pair from its U.K. factory that’s filled with a team of local experts and artisans.

Ronning captures Solovair’s spirit through this collaboration, which echoes the stories of Great British craftsmanship. Per the brand, “[Solovair is] the cornerstones of a British industry that unfortunately is on the decline, but an integral part of a tradition that deserves to be thriving.”

Today, Ronning’s custom Type 0-1 Buckle Shoe and Type 0-2 Walking Boot have been restocked. Both are made from leather, with the Buckle Shoe sporting a construction comprising Scotch grain and high-shine leathers, and the boots appearing in Scotch grain and calf leather. Regardless of their construction, Ronning x Solovair promises a high-quality and luxurious product bolstered by Goodyear welting, nickel-plated solid brass hardware, and the manufacturer’s proprietary Commando sole unit which is packed with a soft suspension cushioning system and works in conjunction with cushioned foam insoles.

Leather and synthetic lining can be found across both pairs, while optional orange laces for the boot can be swapped out for a hiking-themed aesthetic. Branding is kept to an absolute minimum which only enhances the collection’s luxe nature, while both pairs are fit for both their intended formal or hiking purposes or worn with Ronning’s own curation of workwear-inspired legwear for something more casual.

The Ronning x Solovair collection is available now in sizes UK 6-12 on the Ronning website, with the Buckle Shoe costing £215 GBP and the Walking Boot coming in at £235 GBP (approx. $260-$285 USD). Take a closer look at both pairs above.
