Arsenal F.C. is a team that represents London to the fullest. At the start of the year, the Gunners presented a Transport for London-inspired jersey before releasing a community-based home kit that payed homage to local sports clubs and primary schools. Now, Arsenal is showcasing its new pre-match jersey that celebrates the club’s Jamaican supporters.

Releasing just in time for Notting Hill Carnival — an annual celebration of Caribbean culture and diversity in London — adidas and Arsenal’s new kit is designed with the same green, gold, and black colors that make up Jamaica’s national flag. The kit also looks to create unity between the Arsenal fans who call North London and Jamaica their home. Commenting on the new jersey, Arsenal midfielder, Emile Smith-Rowe, who comes from Jamaican heritage said:

“Football is nothing without the fans and I’m so proud to see adidas and my club continuing to support our fans from all backgrounds. It’s a stunning shirt and I’m looking forward to wearing it.”

Presenting the kit at Notting Hill Carnival, it will be seen on the pitch for the first time when Arsenal takes on Fulham in the Premier League on August 27. You can also purchase the pre-match kit on the official adidas website from today.

In other news, Represent has presented its lookbook for Fall/Winter 2022.
