Per Götesson "Slashes Everything" For His Latest Capsule
Reconstructing and recontextualizing vintage T-shirts.
Swedish London-based designer Per Götesson is known for exploring sustainability, reconstruction and exposure, and now he puts this all together in his latest capsule collection, “Slashes Everything.”
Working with vintage T-shirts, Götesson takes everything from Home Alone to heteronormative undertones in Budweiser-branded tank tops and gives it a flirtatious edge as the neckline slashes to reveal skin deep down the chest. Likewise, Fallout 76 tees are slashed into new architectural dimensions, bearing pectorals and nipples if you dare.
Walt Disney is twisted in a bootleg manner to become “Malt Whiskey,” adorning a variety of tees in its expected curvaceous font before being not just slashed, but cut so deep it’s since been stitched back together. Here, Götesson adds top stitching and texture, all while altering how the humble tee sits on the body. This is applied to everything from “Have a Coke” and The Rolling Stones to a Harvard University number, meaning there’s a tee for everyone.
Take a look at the “Slashes Everything” collection in the lookbook above (which is styled alongside plenty of Per Götesson’s billowing trousers and more), and shop the range of one-of-one T-shirts online now.
In other news, Palace and C.P. Company have come together for a winter-ready capsule.
