Palace and C.P. Company Save Winter With a Knock-Out Collaboration
The comprehensive collection brings goggle jackets, duffle coats, bombers, tees, pants, bags, hats, shoes, and even a blanket.
C.P(alace) Company, anyone? That’s right, London’s leading streetwear label-turned-collaborative juggernaut Palace has partnered with the Italian outerwear pioneer C.P. Company on a comprehensive capsule collection, and it’s set to refresh your winter look with a host of updated classics.
Founded by Massimo Osti in 1971 and run today by Lorenzo Osti, the C.P. Company President, the label has made a name for itself with hybrid styles that explore the great outdoors, streetwear, and high-fashion worlds simultaneously. Vintage military undertones combine with utilitarian references and sportswear-indebted fabric research to create outerwear that lasts a lifetime, both physically and metaphorically as it’s forever in fashion.
Now, the brand’s philosophy has been put through its paces courtesy of Palace’s playful vision, presenting a collaboration that perfectly encapsulates both brands’ identities. Pieces from the Italian imprint’s archive meet sweaters and jogging pants synonymous with Palace, while research and application of fabric manipulation and treatments are found aplenty.
Technical garment-dyed fabrics such as Nylon B, Flatt Nylon, and Microreps Diamond Peach welcome a contemporary touch, while traditional lambswool has been used for a jumper fit for the winter season. Likewise, an archival Montgomery duffle coat inspires Palace’s long duffle coat, a piece that’s treated with a Tri-Ferg-bearing vintage striped pattern and a fabric coating that makes the outerwear staple lean into a performance realm.
Of course, it couldn’t be a C.P. Company collaboration without a take on its iconic Ba-Tic goggle-hood layered canvas field jacket, here arriving in faded purple and black colorways. This complements the cap and balaclava, while a full uniform is delivered courtesy of hiking boots, pants that complement the Ba-Tic, goggle-wearing hoodies, Fairisle-esque jumpers, bomber jackets, classic logo-wearing T-shirts, and a blanket.
Speaking on the collaboration, Lorenzo Osti said, “I’m in love with Palace since I discovered the brand years ago: I love their attitude, irreverent but humble, ironic but with a lot to say. And when I met Gareth and Lev, I just had the confirmation that great brands come from great people. Working with them has been easy and fun, but more than everything, a great honor.”
Palace’s Lev Tanju added, “Working with C.P Company is a big deal for me personally. I have been a lifetime massive fan of what Lorenzo and his family have done for not just my wardrobe but menswear and sportswear in general, they are the innovators that changed everything. The Osti family basically invented everything I like to wear except for flip-flops. I rate Paul Harvey too, he also designed some of my favorite outerwear pieces ever!”
The collection will arrive on Palace’s website and in its flagship stores around the world on December 16, as well as on the C.P. Company website. Naturally, this will be at the usual time of 11 a.m. GMT/EDT/CST/JST.
