Nicholas Daley is one of the U.K.’s most loved independent designers, and Fender is one of — if not the — world’s finest purveyor of guitar making, and now the two have come together for a joint collection titled “American Vintage II.”

Drawing its name from the same line of electric and bass guitars by Fender, the collection is centered around said instruments and a classic Americana theme that sees vintage T-shirts and the designer’s signature patchwork bomber jacket get an apt reworking. Daley’s aesthetic is one infused with references to the past, as is Fender’s identity, often pulling from the world of music as he has recently done with his Wu-Lu collaboration, Fred Perry collection, and partnership with Mulberry.

“It feels very special to be working with iconic music brand, Fender, on this collection. Music is part of my label’s DNA so it feels like a natural fit to work with a brand that helped elevate music as we know it. When Fender asked me to respectfully reimagine the aesthetic of American Vintage II, I couldn’t pass it up.”

With this in mind, the DNA takes over vintage T-shirts that have been hand-printed with warped ’70s-esque roundel branding on the front and a rear graphic depicting Fender’s guitars. As for the patch bomber, tones are in-theme with the guitars themselves, utilizing a palette of browns and creams reminiscent of Fender’s wood.

The limited-run collaboration is available on Nicholas Daley’s website now, with the T-shirt coming in at £60 GBP (approx. $73 USD) and the bomber being sold on a price-on-request basis.
