Our Legacy WORK SHOP's Dr. Martens 1461 Collab Is Peak Essential Footwear
Crafted from deadstock and sustainably-sourced Horween leather and suede from C.F. Stead Tannery.
Our Legacy WORK SHOP has a thing for reworking staple pieces, and now it turns its attention away from everyday essential garments to produce two pairs of Dr. Martens 1461s. As expected, subtlety is at the forefront of Our Legacy’s collaboration, working with deadstock (and sustainably sourced) offcuts of Horween Chromexel leather and “Desert Oasis” suede courtesy of the C.F. Stead Tannery to create a 1461 in “Black” and “Red Alert” colorways, respectively.
From there, Our Legacy WORK SHOP applies its signature Yin Yang logo on the lateral rear quarter of the heel and threads waxed laces through the 1461’s three-eyelet set-up. A “WORK SHOP” logo hits up the tongue, before dual branding finds itself emblazoning the footbed of the shoe.
While the collaborative effort is clean and subtle, don’t mistake it for not being exhaustive. A plain black welt differs from the expected yellow stitching you typically find on the leather offering, and that leather is courtesy of Horween making it some of the most reliable and long-lasting in the industry. Everything on the shoe is deadstock, playing further into Our Legacy WORK SHOP’s ethos, and the same attention to detail to ensure longevity has been applied to the suede pair.
Both are finished with a black-and-gold-scripted heel tab, Dr. Martens’ proprietary AirWair sole unit, and cost £200 GBP/$230 USD each. Take a closer look at the shoes above and pick them up while stocks last on Our Legacy’s website or in its stores now.
