Kestin’s FW22 Collection Embraces Scottishness
Heading to John Muir Way, East Lothian, Scotland.
Edinburgh-based menswear label Kestin has just presented its latest collection for Fall/Winter 2022.
This time last year, the contemporary brand used renowned Serbian textile designer and painter, Bernat Klein, for inspiration and unveiled a collection that expressed human emotion through Klein’s view of color. However, this winter, Kestin looks to juxtapose the harshness of the season with a campaign that takes to life in the great outdoors — on the local Edinburgh coast and at the John Muir Way, East Lothian, Scotland.
For the collection, Kestin has explored an assemblage of different fabrications such as padded materials, heavy-set outerwear, and high-quality knitwear. Collection highlights come in the form of the Neist fleece which is a signature carryover style for Kestin. Cut from a soft, Italian blend of a virgin wool check, it is also inspired by traditional Americana textiles, blankets, and colorways that are merged with Kestin’s classic Scottishness. Rounding off the design, the fleece comes adorned in a classic workwear design and features functional elements such as three-patch pockets and button-down closure.
Other stand-outs are the Wick trousers which come with a slightly cropped leg. They’re also crafted from Japanese CORDURA® combat wool and offer the “comfort and aesthetics of wool, yet the performance of a durable nylon.” In addition, Kestin has also presented a selection of accessories such as a Balloch Beanie — which is crafted from 100% lambswool — and a Tartan Scarf.
