Following its inaugural release
is now preparing a new release for Earth Month. Looking to honor the special month dedicated to mother Earth, the footwear label co-designed by Alice Wang and Sara Jaramillo, who previously designed for YEEZY
and Proenza Schouler
, built on its 3D Knit Tabi Sneaker with six colorways.
Enhancing its sustainable production, the latest rendition features a knit upper constructed of a recycled polyester yarn upcycled from post-consumer PET bottle waste. Additionally, the recycling and yarn spinning process used by ILYSM is approved by the EPA and meets the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. The engineered one-piece upper is machine washable and incredibly eliminates 30 percent of waste commonly generated in traditional footwear construction methods. ILYSM has also updated its removable sockliner footbed to be more comfortable with a next-to-skin layer of cork, which is a natural, renewable, sustainable, and a low-impact material that works perfectly with two layers of recycled foam.
Priced at $99 USD, the Earth Day Vegan Tabi Sneakers will be available in “Lime,” “Orange,” “Lilac,” “Brown,” “White” and “Black” on ILYSM’s
website April 1.
