Setting a precedent for himself with the long-awaited reboot of Nike’s ACG line in the latter half of last year, ACRONYM’s Errolson Hugh continued on his upward trajectory this year by building upon NikeLab ACG with a bevy of hyped activewear and footwear releases, most notably with his own label in the form of the re-engineered Lunar Force 1 SP. This, alongside collaborations with the likes of Futura, NEMEN, and VSCO across these two brands, as well as covering Hypebeast Magazine: The Exploration Issue in February, Hugh’s influence on the converging worlds of sportswear, footwear and fashion should not be underestimated -- if there’s any one avenue to changing the current conception of these three fields, it is with Nike’s stamp of approval. Keep your eyes on the creative output of Hugh in the coming year, as this is the surest indication of what is to come at the intersection of form and function.
