Arguably one of the innovators and original purveyors of luxury streetwear, mastermind JAPAN, headed by Homma Masaki, is reveled by fans for its exclusivity and scarcity. Shuttering the doors to his brand at virtually the height of its popularity is no simple feat, but the brand’s black-and-white aesthetic was a mainstay across numerous concluding projects including a ramen pop-up with Hide-Chan and a toy with Gundam. With respect to fashion, mastermind JAPAN also linked with Stussy, Carhartt WIP, NEIGHBORHOOD and Bamford to bring us some rather memorable co-op gear, leading to the disbanding of mastermind JAPAN.
