Branching out from their usual forte in watch-making, Nooka has released their first corporate
In honor of the widely successful Glow in the Dark Tour featuring Kanye West, N*E*R*D, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna, watch brand Nooka re-worked their Zub watch in a special Glow in the Dark finish. The watches were given as a gift to Kanye and company at the completion of the tour last Saturday in Los Angeles. The Zub watch is among the latest in popular watch styles which utilize more abstract time-telling methods with the use of changing LED bars to denote the time. With only 15 watches produced, a larger release is more then unlikely.
The Nooka Zirc is not only eye-catching, but also practical. For those unfamiliar with Nooka’s system – the 12 dots represent hours and the horizontal row counts minutes. As a timepiece, its unique off-center 45mm by 35mm display case design and separates it from other watches available today. The Nooka logo is also deep-etched into either side of the case. The mode buttons become part of the logo, rising from inside the infinity sign. Currently available for left arm wearers, an adjustable Zirc that can be modified for use on the right arm will be available in late 2008. Available now at www.nooka.com for a suggested retail price of $350 USD.
Design brand Nooka kicks off their design initiative with a series of watches with more projects on the horizon. Named after the local accented way of saying New York, the brand represents Nooka’s love of New York with a series of innovative watches. The ZOT AL offers an unconventional method of telling time, using a dotted display on an aluminum face. Other standard features include a chronograph and alarm. Available at select dealers and online via Nooka.
