R.I.P. John Hughes

A legend of the 80's past away from a heart attack today. He put out some of the most popular films ever and was a big inspiration on a lot of today's comedic writers and directors. My favorites from him were National Lampoon's Vacation, Plains Trains & Automobiles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and The Breakfast Club.

I Love You, Man

[Image] Going to see it tomorrow night and actually pretty hyped about it, I think it's going to be hilarious. Rudd and Segel stared in two of my favorite comedies last year (Role Models and Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and appear to have a nice chemistry on screen where you can tell they are really friends. Plus Andy Samberg and J.K. Simmons are in it and are usually on point with the comedy. Rashida Jones and Jaime Pressly are also in it too and the ladies are fine.

John Woo

Huge fan of John Woo's work in Hong Kong and wanted to know if anybody else is??? Haven't seen his newest movie Red Cliff but I've heard good things about it. My favorite film of his is Hard Boiled, an epic action flick and the shootout at the hospital is legendary. Also his films are the reason I'm always willing to go see a film starring Chow Yun Fat.

The White Stripes

Other then Radiohead, arguably the best band for the past decade or so imo. Meg White is just an average drummer but the genius of the band is Jack White and his guitar. At least a top 3 guitarist playing right now, if not better and a good song writer. Their shit is pretty simple at times but damn it's catchy and memorable.

#4 Favre

Sad to see Favre retire, one of the few players you could just see still loved to play the game and had fun while doing it and this is coming from a Lions fan who has seen this guy crush us for years. I'm going to miss watching him play, definitely a top 5 QB ever and the game against the Raiders shortly after his dad died is still one of my favorite games ever.
