Hypebeast Flea New York celebrated the city’s creative community with 40+ vendors and 6,000+ attendees

Hypebeast, the leading global platform for contemporary culture and lifestyle, held its second iteration of Hypebeast Flea in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19. The interactive, community-led marketplace hosted over 6,000 guests, who browsed the wares of more than 40 local vendors showcasing new pieces and exclusive drops.

Building upon the momentum of the inaugural Hypebeast Flea held in London last year with a focus on nurturing emerging talents, Hypebeast Flea New York extended the influence of Hypebeast beyond the digital realm, presenting a curated and vibrant experience to bring the best of local culture and community to life.

The event attracted a diverse group of visitors, including different demographics, and loyal members from the Hypebeast community and local families, fostering genuine cross-section interactions and meaningful engagement. Through the event, grassroots brands and emerging creatives had a valuable opportunity to acquire new customers, gain substantial physical and digital exposure, and enhance conversion.

Over the course of the weekend, attendees immersed themselves in a variety of interactive activities while engaging with the local vendors showcasing their unique offerings, from live screen-printing by Extra Vitamins to denim customization by Leisure Centre, in-person custom earplug fittings by Crystal Guardian, on-site tattoos from Henbo Henning and a selection of tooth gems from ToothCharm. Other highlights included Strawberry Western’s full-sized Pump It Up: Exceed arcade dance machine, a curated selection of furniture from Lichen’s unparalleled collection — including chairs by COMME des GARÇONS and Gaetano Pesce as well as several of their in-house designs — and PHILLLLLTHY’s array of bespoke apparel and hand-dyed footwear. Sounds were provided by Sundae Sauuce, while attendees noshed on refreshments from Mama Yoshi Mini Mart, Regina’s Grocery, Clover New York, Toms Juice, Liquid Death and Jumo. Notable guests included Extra Butter’s Creative Director Bernie Gross, Bricks & Wood’s Founder Kacey Lynch, and content creators Mark Boutilier and Antoni Bumba.

Hypebeast Flea New York was powered by Depop, who brought six of their top local sellers, spotlighted through experiential elements including customized garments, a claw machine giveaway and a photo moment.
