《怪獸與牠們的產地 2》將如何交待鄧不利多的同性戀角色設定？

《哈利波特》作者 J. K. Rowling 曾公開證實 Albus Dumbledore（阿不思·鄧不利多）同性戀身份的角色設定，曾經的戀愛對象正是黑巫師 Gellert Grindelwald（蓋勒·葛林戴華德），而現開始進入後製階段的《怪獸與牠們的產地 2》（Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald），故事正正是圍繞著 Dumbledore（Jude Law 飾）和 Grindelwald（Johnny Depp 飾）二人，所以這兩角色的同性戀關係，成為了不少觀眾和媒體所關注的問題。近日導演 David Yates 接受《Entertainment Weekly》訪問時，便就此問題作出了回應:
Not explicitly, but I think all the fans are aware of that. He had a very intense relationship with Grindelwald when they were young men. They fell in love with each other’s ideas, and ideology and each other.
David Yates 透露今次電影第二集，將不會明確地交待二人的同性戀關係，這說法其實跟 J. K. Rowling 在 2016 年談及今次電影系列時的說法一致:
I can’t tell you everything, I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, so there’s lots to unpack in that relationship.
由於《Fantastic Beasts》是一個五部曲的系列作品，所以故事會慢慢逐一交待鄧不利多的轉變，包括他跟 Grindelwald 的關係，就讓我們期待往後的劇情發展。
