The former executive editor of V Magazine, Julie Anne Quay, launched VFILES in 2012. With an NY-based boutique, VFILES TV, a runway show and most recently a record label, it’s fair to say that VFILES is broadly focused.
In contrast to pretty much any other runway show, VFILES did the designer version of model street casting for its show, allowing designers to enter a competition and get looked over by a host of fashion’s finest, including Italo Zucchelli, Virgil Abloh and Vogue Creative Director Candy Pratts Price. Its latest venture is VFILES LOUD!, a record label in collaboration with former Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, which followed on from LIVE at VFILES, its live performance series hosted at their New York boutique space.
This is in addition to its irreverent VFILES TV platform, which hosts solely original content ranging from LisaTV, a show with engaging host Lisa Katnic who blends street style inspiration with interviews to MODEL FILES, a part reality show and part mockumentary show from a model’s perspective. In fact, after taking in everything VFILES does, calling them broadly focused is an understatement.
