In 1996, Craig Atkinson established CYC Design Corporation, a product management company that exports North American products to Japan and has clients such as Supreme and Arc’teryx. After seven years of living in Japan as CEO of CYC Design Corporation, Atkinson channeled Japanese desire for North American design into producing high-quality fabrics with North American knitting mills. Atkinson’s inclination to maximize manufacturing quality manifested into the creative outlets that are wings+horns and Reigning Champ. Champ and Wings + Horns, the Vancouver-based menswear brand turns 12 this year, celebrating over a decade of quality and innovation borne out of a marriage of Canadian design and Japanese craftsmanship. Each year, wings+horns gives its signature heavyweight fleece and humble yet high-quality garments an unexpected upgrade, whether it be improved aesthetic and functionality or collaborations with reputable brands such as Canada Goose, Ace Hotel and adidas to name a few.
