CL may be a household name for Koreans and K-pop fans, but 2016 is the year she made a major mark in the American fashion and music industries. In August, CL made her U.S. debut by releasing her highly-anticipated single “LIFTED” and its music video. The track is co-written by YG producer Teddy, CL, and Asher Rother and contains interpolations of classic Wu-Tang Clan song “Method Man”; the video even features cool kid-socialites like Luka Sabbat. CL also worked tirelessly on the fashion tip: she joined Travi$ Scott, iLoveMakonnen, Vic Mensa and Baauer on Alexander Wang’s “WANGSQUAD” campaign, appearing and cover starring on a number of magazine including Paper, Dazed Korea, ELLE Korea, Free, WOMB, Wild and more. The 2NE1 member also appears on 88rising’s Wolfpaik series alongside Anderson .Paak, Kiko Mizuhara, Virgil Abloh and others. From October to November, CL embarked her first-ever tour across United States and Canada.
