Asia's first-ever HUMAN MADE pop-up opens in Hong Kong dropping a Hong Kong exclusive tram T-shirt

Starting tomorrow, the highly-anticipated HUMAN MADE first-ever pop-up store in Asia will open its doors in Hong Kong at BELOWGROUND, Landmark, in exclusive partnership with HBX. The approximate 2,000 square feet space invites fans in Hong Kong into the creative universe of HUMAN MADE, and will be featuring its SEASON 23 (Spring/Summer 2022) collection and a limited edition tram printed t-shirt. The Hong Kong pop-up will open its doors from May 13 and the exclusive Hong Kong inspired t-shirt will be available on HBX.com worldwide at a later date.

NIGO, Founder and Designer of HUMAN MADE, made his first visit to Hong Kong in 1995 and it was love at first sight. “It’s the only place where I can take the underground and ferry by myself,” he said. The multifaceted streetwear guru from Tokyo hopes that the opening of HUMAN MADE’s pop-up store in collaboration with HBX will let his fans in Hong Kong experience the “future-vintage” concept of HUMAN MADE and a Tokyo vibe.

The 2,000 square feet pop-up is distinctly sectioned into an installation space and a retail floor area. Fans will be first greeted by familiar lightboxes and a vintage mosaic floor tiling with HUMAN MADE logo, then an army of mannequins against a neon signage backdrop. Wall decorations like the HUMAN MADE tiger paper mache trophy, and a large overhead banner express the aesthetic of “future vintage” that represents the brand. The retail area is dressed in vintage blue accented with the brand’s heart motifs. A clean white cashier counter overlooks the lounge area featuring mid-century style lounge chairs and a coffee table built with signature HUMAN MADE crates.

The grand opening day of the HUMAN MADE pop-up is celebrated with the drop of a specially-curated box tee (HK$700) depicted with Hong Kong’s iconic double-deck tram, Ding Ding, inspired by NIGO’s first trip memories in Hong Kong.

The pop-up space will debut with HUMAN MADE’s SEASON 23 collection, marking the brand’s twenty-third season to date with deep references to vintage, Americana and military elements. The collection expresses a mix of bold and timeless colors accented by HUMAN MADE’s signature phrases of “Gears for futuristic teenagers,” “DRY ALLS”, and is illustrated with animal motifs such as ducks, tigers and dogs. Covering a variety of genres of style, the collection features classic jackets, hoodies, chinos, sweaters, accessories and lifestyle items. The much-loved generic store collection also features self-care necessities such as tooth gel, shampoo sets, sterilizing mists, masks and hand towels. The HUMAN MADE collection will be refreshed at different time intervals throughout the span of 6 months opening of the pop-up.
