This is quite a humbling experience you are encountering. Will you heal from it?
I would say this would be the perfect time for you to try some new things. When we feel comfortable with ourselves we tend to get comfortable with routine. And when you're down-and-out, people tend to hide in that comfort zone. That makes it worst.
Like I said, get out and do something you never thought you would try. Not only will doing new things will help you keep your mind off of your misery but it also gives you a new sense of confidence when you accomplish new things.
Plus, the fact that no one can ever escape... It could always be worst.
Joke about it, laugh about it, forget about it. The only thing to do is make the best of it. Feeling sorry for yourself is going to get you no where faster than you actually think.
