Occupy Wall Street

May 02, 2012 @ 16:07
If they want to change things, they need to stop complaining and get a job within these organizations they hate and make change from within. These hippies are poor by choice. The people who make good money didnt just get it handed to them, they worked their ass off. They dont like the government? then work for the government. DUH. These people want change but dont want to work for it. Occupy movement is an absolute joke.
May 02, 2012 @ 16:26
Its not only about the job situation, look at how the government spends our money. About 700 billion goes to the military................. dont you think that needs to change?
May 02, 2012 @ 16:27
Everytime i hear people go against all these protests im like damn where did all these peoples hearts go
May 02, 2012 @ 16:29
like i said.....if they want change WORK for the government and do something about it. Its called running for office in politics. If one of these dumbasses decides to run, they sure as hell would have a huge constituency. They are too lazy to do the math to realize that they can make change from within.
May 02, 2012 @ 16:30
You want to know where my heart went?

It went and got a job. That's what it did nikka.

Life is not all about money, enjoy life for what it is.

YOLO!

When is the last time that worked........Obama is the perfect example
May 02, 2012 @ 16:34
you see thats exactly the mindset occupy supporters have. All they want is to rely on people to get things done for them. Who cares if obama failed. Thats not you nor me, thats HIM as individual. Occupy movement does nothing but down play the power of individual choices and consequences. You want something done right....DO IT YOURSELF. I could beg for a ferrari.....but that shit isnt gonna happen if I MYSELF dont put in MY effort to get one.
May 02, 2012 @ 16:39
So people are supposed to just conform to injustice? Imagine how the world would be if no one stood up for anything
May 02, 2012 @ 16:42
How hard is it for you to not get my point? If they want justice, make justice happen from the source of the "problem" instead of asking for it.
May 02, 2012 @ 16:46

too logical for OWS supporters to take srsly

but nah honestly I went out yesterday and met up wit my homegirl and her hippie friends, they were all mad tired from protesting all day but even they DGAF about the protest shit so much as just going to play ukeleles and eat vegan food and shit

All I do is smoke weed and listen to MF DOOM

May 02, 2012 @ 16:49
i understand what you are saying but that is not how the system is supposed to work
May 02, 2012 @ 16:51
Here's a thought for me to take the OWS movement seriously:

why dont they make a political party? The Occupy Party to go against the Democrats and Republicans.

if they so call claim to represent the 99% they would obviously win in a landslide right? but the OWS is so unorganized they arent accomplishing SHIT.

there's some food for thought.
May 02, 2012 @ 16:56
Its only been a year, look how long it took for African Americans to achieve equal civil rights
May 02, 2012 @ 17:01
So what are they in a hurry for?

They claim to have a grown a bigger following in the shortest amount of time in the history of any civil matter. Black skin doesnt affect everyone in the US, but money does and people want more of it. So how hard is that to believe?

You are already setting yourself up for pessimism just as all the occupy sheep do. They dont see the potential of their cause from within their own supporters. I say they are idiots cus they dont know what they want and when and how to do it. All they do is beg.

your example of begging for a ferrari is wrong. they are not asking for things to be handed to them (there's always the exception), rather they are asking for the injustices from the elite to stop. how is that we spend X amount on war yet spend a ridiculously lower amount on education? the people that rule this question are only in it to make their pockets fatter when its their JOB to run this country for the benefit of all its citizens but obviously that has rarely happened and probably wont ever, ows is a start but definitely not the finished product. we as americans need to get the ball rolling, it all starts in our education.

we could probably start the process a lot quicker if americans were as ballsy as the egyptians..
May 02, 2012 @ 17:18
lmao that's the same vague rhetoric you hear from everybody but it's still devoid of any semblance of a tangible solution. SO, you might as well just get money.

All I do is smoke weed and listen to MF DOOM

May 02, 2012 @ 17:19
I gave you the solution. Get an Occupy political party going. The elite weren't just born into their present state. They worked to be where they are at, greedy or not. The same needs to be said about Occupy supporters being involved in politics. They need to work to where they want to be at (justice).

So its the SAME as begging for a Ferrari....Justice is earned by those who KNOW how to seek it.

Only problem with this is that general consensus will not agree unless they see the awful truth of what's going behind the scenes.

Ppl need the awful truth for their judgement to change. You'd be surprise how many dumb people there are in this country.

If an Occupy political party gets moving, then people will take notice and listen. All people are hearing is muffled unclear begging without a single voice. You think the rest of America wants to listen to that and take that seriously?

The solution remains the same. Form a Party and I'll vote for you guys. As of now; I cant take Occupy seriously as all they do is conspirisize and hate on the "elite" for having nice things. They are just uneducated hating hippies.
May 02, 2012 @ 20:09

my biggest issue with the whole movement is it just seems like everybody's complaining, but no real solution for whatever they think the problem is

idkkk brosesame, some of the elite were born where they were. take paris hilton, u think she got where she was with her beautiful face and talent? and if the occupiers do form a political party, then they'll take votes away from the democrats and more republicans will take office=more politics enacted that are the EXACT opposite of they are going for. more tax breaks for the rich, cutting social services and education, fucking the environment, and giving unlimited power to corporations and big oil. if anything theyre better off being kinda irrelevent b/c the teapartiers made the republicans look like psychopaths and with the dems being the only moderate and sane party left, theyre probably gonna do well in the 2012 elections. if the occupiers become the anti-teaparty for the dems (even tho i do agree with alot of what occupy is about) theyll just scare away the moderates. its all politics my friend ;)

be careful what you pretend to be

May 02, 2012 @ 21:49
The problem with this "change the system from da inside" theory is that it will never happen because if you look at the way promotion works in a company / political party it is through doing certain things that benefit the bosses and you are taught to do these things flawlessly over and over again until it becomes hardwired into you, so it is you who becomes part of the system. But if you were open about changing the way things worked this will put the bosses power at risk and in-turn making them afraid to give you any power.

So your idea of making the bad people better by making them badder won't work.

They do have a solution. It will be to overturn the current system of capitalism with a mass uprising. The problem with this is that this is impossible with just a few thousand people and it will not happen if they are regarded by everyone else as hippies, you have to make them slowly realise and educate them that "Hey this system is designed for a select few and it won't change by electing some flashy guy in a suit who has no idea of what the working class really need".
May 02, 2012 @ 21:57
Who are these protesters? I wonder how they can do all this protesting on free time.

If they're unemployed, shouldn't they be looking for work?

^ FYI, the banks are destroying these empty houses because the housing market is in the shit hole which means no1 is buying houses and it takes more $$$ maintain the houses so they simply destroy them..

what kind of fucking bullshit logic is this? when so many people and kids are becoming homeless?

May 07, 2012 @ 15:42
being enraged isn't going to DO anything. If you want to make a change start with yourself and get rich, then teach other people how to do it. If all the people protesting just had the nerve to make their own money there would be no need to polarize the rich and poor

Stop assuming all protesters are poor and or jobless!
May 07, 2012 @ 18:57
Stop assuming all protesters are poor and or jobless!

if they're not poor or jobless they should be focused on excelling at what they do. Instead of protesting.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Why don't we stop looking at this from everyone's unique abstract interpretation of the economic divide and start looking at it in terms of what ALL OF US, FROM AN INDIVIDUAL STANDPOINT can do to make things better. You can argue semantics all fucking day but it doesn't change the fact that IT IS WHAT IT IS and the most anybody can hope to do is transcend the bullshit, and the only way you can do that is with... HARD WORK!

Simple, see?

All I do is smoke weed and listen to MF DOOM

I get the impression some people are not in favor of the right to protest, and/or refuse to acknowledge our current economic problems.
