I have an at2020 and I think you're better off saving some money and getting a blue yeti or an sm57. Or spend a generous amount for a better mic overall.

If you're planning on upgrading later, get the sm57; it's a studio staple.

The AT2020 is pretty good as long as you're recording under the right conditions.

The Blue Yeti is the best for what you're looking to do. ~$150; USB with 4 settings great sound settings depending on what you're trying to record and the space.
