10 Commandments For Upcoming Brands

Dec 12, 2012 @ 18:26
1. No Box Logo. Only Supreme can do that.

2. No more pocket tees with some graphics on the pocket

3. No more 5 Panels or whatever

4. No more snakeskin snapbacks or whatever

5. No more "666" Satan, Illimunati or whatever free mason stuff

6. No more "DEATH" and big ass depressing words

7. Please, stop making your graphics so big. There is no need for the graphic to cover 90% of the shirt

8. No more use of the word swag, dope or anything related.

9. Corny quotes such as "Life is....." or "To succeed one must....."

10. big ass picture of a sexy girl or whatever. I love my women, but you're gonna be a laughing stock if you have a big ass pic of a girl in a bikini or somethin

You're welcome.

I agree with all except number 3, I dont see the difference in doing 5 panels or snap backs really. Both have been around for a long time! Good list
Dec 12, 2012 @ 19:55
I agree with number 5 Blvck Scale puts like a freemason or upside down cross on the pocket and sells the t for like $40 its bullshit
Dec 12, 2012 @ 21:40
All good except 7.
Small prints make your "Brand" look completely amateur-like.
Well, not if you can handle it like Ronin but in other cases.
Dec 12, 2012 @ 21:49
stop knocking off or making fun of supreme and thinking your brand is original
100+ brands did the same thing
Dec 12, 2012 @ 22:39
I agree but 6 and 9 arent true, look at death precision they are a great brand
Dec 15, 2012 @ 01:13
Bump for being real.

It is legal because I wish it.

rules 2 and 3 are kinda stupid. No more five panels? really? that's a really broad thing to get rid of. And it's not like having a pattern on a specific part of a shirt is some brand's 'signature' like a box logo. It may be played out, but that doesn't mean there isn't new ways to make them that would be cool.

Add no tribal/Navajo print

Gotta agree with everything except for 6 and 9. Those two are pretty much staples of streetwear and have been since this shit started.

So basically stop making new brands

Nope. Basically stop trying to copy off of other brands and expect people to pay top dollar for it...

I hope this is in line with your rules....Oh yeah, t-shirt is on sale.
Mar 26, 2013 @ 01:06
Came to see if I broke any of the rules, doesn't seem like I have yet.  Woop.  I do like quotes, but it'd have to be really timeless for me to ever associate it with a brand.

think the rules are great, except I don't see anything wrong with 5-panels
overall though, Moses had the original commandments:

Some rules are made to be broken. It's about being fresh and bringing originality.

Honestly, you could break the essential rules and still pull it off. It's all about delivery.

No more replacing A's with V, so incredibly played out.
Apr 13, 2014 @ 12:13
When you think you got something ready to release - stop, wait a few weeks, take a long hard look once the excitement of releasing something has worn off and think whether:
a) this is the best you can do
b) peeps gonna buy it
Learnt that the hard way!
