lol DotA. I was comparing SC to WC in general melee play. You realize DotA was based off a Starcraft UMS right? If it wasn't for SC, DotA wouldn't even be around, it was people making their own custom maps in SC editor that spawned those types of games. I don't even really consider DotA to be an RTS game. It feels like a SC UMS game to me, I can't believe people even play that competitively. I mean I like playing games like that sometimes too but I also like the playing the game the way it was originally meant to be played.

Are you kidding me? Heroes are whack. They ruin the game. That's why Starcraft > Warcraft.
Warcraft is such a slow paced game compared to SC. Gameplay-wise SC is so much better and its insanely balanced. WC is always about leveling up your heroes, the average WC match lasts like 30+ minutes but you can end a SC match in 2. In SC its about builds, speed, control(micro), strategy, map control, scouting, placement, expansions, economy(macro), etc. Nowadays in competitive SC, the games been broken down so much that everyone has the timing down for everything. The game's constantly evolving and new strategies and builds are still being discovered to this day.
The only complaints I ever hear about SC are that its too hard, they can't control so many units, they can't multitask, etc. But, I can't blame people because the game IS hard once you start to play at a higher level.
That being said I don't care how long blizzard takes to make this game, its been 11 years since the release of SC. They just better not ruin it. SC is the pinnacle of RTS games and no other game has come close. No ones ever seen a RTS game taken this far before.
Ghost was scrapped altogether. They might include something similar in the game as a single player game.
