Sons of Anarchy

I just started watching this series, it's pretty gruesome. Just finished Season 1 Episode 3, was cringing the entire time they were castrating the rapist.
Dec 04, 2011 @ 22:48
prolly the worst thing i ever saw on this show is when they burn that one guy's tattoo off his back
Dec 04, 2011 @ 22:57
^Which season/episode is that?

This was the first or second season. I believe it was the first season. It was the guy who got Opie put away for five years. He showed up at a little charity event and still had the ink on his back when he was told to black it out. So, they burned it as opposed to the knife.

Season finale tonight. CAN NOT WAIT. Just caught up on last week's episode. Let's see how they wrap this season up. Wonder what next season is going to be about!?
Dec 07, 2011 @ 05:31
that kinda sucked. it was underwhelming in like every way. i can now say that was the worst season this show has had, nothing really came together in a satisfying way even if it ended with the scene set for the last couple seasons of the show. unser somehow is relevant enough to be in the montage, they did some cheesy shit with gemma and tara being allowed in the chapel and the hit us over the head with fuckin john teller and gemma at the head of the table thing, they had THE FUCKING SHIELD ON TV LIKE THEY'RE DARING US TO SAY THE SHIELD WAS A FAR SUPERIOR SHOW, they had fuckin dicksuck acaveda and all them other shield alums larkin about this season like those guys strongarming vic towards the end of that show (and guess where it worked better and where i couldn't take the non-danny trejo rat seriously), it had some bullshit subplot about charming heights and that mayor guy with the mason verger face and lincoln potter and juice and c-note from prison break acting like they mattered the whole season...

and that was a 40-minute episode without previouslies and with like 2 full minutes of montages. last week's was 46 with the same thing. couldn't they have done a 90-minute episode and fit all that in? smfh i'm watching next season cos like i say the club itself without clay and gemma interest me, but my expectations are low. to think fans had problems with season 3. this whole season was filler and the shield did that with the glenn close thing but it was more setup and there were arcs within the season that paid off and mattered unlike how everything is basically the same except the power dynamic in the club. gemma will continue to meddle. clay will continue to be the devil over jax's shoulders. tara will continue to annoy me. etc.
Dec 07, 2011 @ 06:23
HOLY SHIT THAT SUCKED
FUCK THIS
Dec 07, 2011 @ 06:36
like father, like son
Dec 07, 2011 @ 07:00
I CANNOT believe they didn't kill Clay. That finale was like a bitch sucking you off then her phone ringing and her leaving before you cum. Fucking bullshit!
Dec 07, 2011 @ 07:54
That was the worst fucking finale they have ever had. Jesus Christ, I can't believe I waited a fucking week for that. Of course Tara has to come in at the end and say she's not going anywhere. The one thing I wanted was for her to go away or be killed off and they can't even do that. I have posted every week hoping this would be her last season smh

They took the easy way out on every single thing: Juice, Bobby Elvis will probably get off the hook cause of Danny Trejo's connection now, making the RICO case disappear, and getting Jax to take over the club.

First line: "Sons of Anarchy concluded what has arguably been its finest season"

Don't agree with that at all, but it was nice to read that he has talked with FX's president and is hoping to do three more seasons.

yeah i noticed on twitter a lot of people are either licking out his bum with praise he doesn't deserve or are disappointed in what could've been, like us
Dec 07, 2011 @ 18:44
If Tara can't work in Charming because of her hand and she ends up just being around all the time like Gemma I am going to be really annoyed.

Disappointing finale.

So anti-climactic

We're all in the same game, just different levels. Dealing with the same hell, just different devils

Dec 07, 2011 @ 22:36
Found the finale very dissapointing, especially with how they build up everything with Jucie, the bust, Jax & Tara leaving etc just to drop it all and go the easy way out, like the whole build up that has been going on for like the whole season was for absolutely nothing.

But I did enjoy watching Hale getting screwed over from the ATF agent! tongueface

Lieutenant Roosevelt's wife is pretty hot.
Dec 08, 2011 @ 20:24
that finale can suck my cock
i love this show but i mean its so bitch at times

like come on its a fucking motorcycle gang, they dont say fuck
they always second guess themselfs and prolong every fucking thing
Dec 08, 2011 @ 21:15
it is shit that they can't say fuck, not even once a season like breaking bad

Sutter put out a 2 part video on his youtube page explaining why the finale was presented that way...

FX wouldnt give him 2 hours for a finale so he had to split it into 2 eps. another route was to cut about 25 mins for a 90 minute finale, but there was too much to show.

REMEMBER THAT THE FINALE WAS "Act 1" and "Act 2"... stop looking at the last episode as the finale and look at them as a whole.

I love this show but have always thought HBO could have given it so much more of what it needed, cursing and violence wise.

Dec 11, 2011 @ 22:54
also explains it here, as well as vaguely where he wants the show to go in upcoming seasons

but yeah pretty much every show would be better on hbo

Even as a whole it was bad. They took the easy way out of resolving every situation that they built up all season: Juice, the RICO case, Clay, Tara and Jax leaving, etc. I didn't watch all season just to see the CIA come in and wipe everything out.

Kurt Sutter writing an article justifying his decisions for the show and this season's finale doesn't automatically make it a good finale. It's obvious that a vast majority of fans were disappointed, otherwise he wouldn't have to write that article in the first place.

All season they built up several stories which I have already listed a couple times in this thread since the finale aired and they wiped them all out by having the cartel work for the CIA. Juice getting revealed for having a black father? not anymore, case was shut down and the evidence was given to Juice to destroy. Bobby Elvis locked up because Otto ratted? not anymore, CIA is going to try and get the charges dismissed. Tara being kidnapped and killed? nope, they were going to put her in protective custody, now she'll take over Gemma's role and be even more annoying. SOA and the IRA being taken down with RICO? nope, CIA usurped the district attorney and shut it all down. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the entire season wasn't spent building each of those things up to a boiling point and then wiping them all out in one fell swoop by revealing that the CIA was involved.

I'm a huge fan of the show, I have watched it since day one, but that finale was a big let down for me. The only thing that would've partially saved it for me would've been Tara getting killed off or leaving Jax. When she walked into the conference room at the end and said "I'm not going anywhere" I was like

You got to think about the show as a whole. Starts out with Jax disagreeing with the direction Clay was taking the club. Jax had to eventually take over as president, this is what the whole show is about.. people are just pissed off at how it happened.
