What's The Last Movie That You've Seen?

Oct 21, 2011 @ 18:07
Drive- Was really looking forward to this. Gosling is perhaps my favourite young actor and it looked like it was going to be a very stylish slick film. Unfortunately that's all I got. The opening getaway scene was brilliant visually and that continued till the end. However in terms of substance it was missing something. I never really cared for the characters. Gosling acted well but I feel the character was all wrong. I understand he was meant to be some sort of 'man with no name' 'mysterious' character but the length of time it took him to reply to stuff just made him look stupid, rather than bad ass. The first half was brilliant. The film was set up brilliantly with the two main characters relationship developing but really didn't build on that.

Overall. Visually stunning, soundtrack brilliant and it had the making of an excellent film. Executation was off though. 6/10

Can't wait for The Ideas of March though. Clooney/ Gosling/ Seymour Hoffman. Great cast

I watched Red State thinking it was going to be a funny, sarcastic movie since Kevin Smith directed it. It was the exact opposite of that. It was NOTHING like what I thought it would be. It's cool though.

Time Traveler.

Oof, nowhere near as good as the anime The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. The acting, so bothersome.

Watched the documentary "Pelada" the other day, absolutely fantastic. Basically, this couple plays in pick-up soccer games around the world. Captures the essence of soccer perfectly.

Peep it on instant Netflix, strongly recommend it.

I just watched the Tree of Life after wanting to see it for a long ass time. Maybe I'm not on the intellectual level to get this movie but this shit was mad stupid. The director was trying way too hard to be artistic.

Finally saw Terrance Mallick's "The Tree of Life". It's very slow and the story isn't all mind blowing or crazy. But the cinematography of it is amazing, as expected from Mallick.

No Mercy. My new number one. Most intense, brutal, and mind fuckin movie i've ever seen, but it's so damn good. those koreans really know how to write a movie plot

I just saw this yesterday. I thought it was really dope, actually. I felt the pace picked up a lot after the first half hour or so.

I saw Where the Wild Things Are today. I thought it was ass. Really disappointed.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.

I didn't think I'll enjoy it - I mean, come on - 3 hours long western movie? Thankfully I was wrong, it was amazing.

Btw, hello everyone. Didn't know where to start so I just decided to write here.
