theyre tougher to break in with the organics

why exactly? when you say 'tougher to break in', do you mean slower progress in general?

So I recently picked up the UO "Tapered" model and like them quite a bit.

My only complaint is that from the leg opening until about halfway up the calf is a little wider than I'd like. The stacking is a little wide IMO.

The leg opening = fine.

I'm planning on bringing them to a tailor but is there a way they can just taper that specific area without shrinking the leg opening?

I don't know if y'all understand what I'm trying to get at but I basically need to know how to get them tapered without messing up the selvedge line or anything else on them. I've only worn them a few times and would like to get this done before stacks and anything else become permanent.

Any/all help is appreciated, thanks!

It's the unbranded model rite, did you go TTS or size 2 down?

so you want to taper a tapered model? lol

organics are really slow to fade brah...after about 7 to 8 months of legit wear is when you start to see some actual fades...

Hey, I'm sorry but I don't have the time to sift through 250 pages of denim care...

I'm pretty new in regards to the whole personalizing raw denim thing. Sure, I've read through most of the quick notes and guides, but since recently I bought my first pair of actually nice raw denim (Fiberops, about 200 dollars I think?), I'd really like it to turn out nicely.

So right now, to the best of my knowledge, here's the most common path to take.
1. To remove some dye, give the jeans a hot/cold soak. Then exercise some for creases to set in a little.
2. Never use a drier, and turn the jeans inside out in a washing machine. Hang dry.
3. Try to keep machine washing to a minimum.

However, I have also heard people say to just wear them right off the bat, and soak only when needed.

Sorry if this seems a little anal, but I want my first pair to turn out nice. blushing

Also, about a year ago I bought a pair of prewhiskered/pre-treated jeans (I know, I know...) and they were stiff like raw denim. However, I made the mistake of machine washing them, and now they're about the same softness as treated jeans. Is there any way to get the original stiffness back? I heard starching is just begging for insects to come eat your stuff...

Finally, recently I got a cheap pair of $30 department store jeans that I later learned was raw (that's what got me interested in denim care...) Without my really doing anything, it started to develop really good honeycombs and all that, and I was like hey, that's pretty sweet. Of course I realized that these jeans were different than the pre-washed stuff I had before, so I looked up some info, but ended up putting them in the dryer anyways. Now, tons of ink has come off (used to be black, now some sort of bipolar blue) and they feel really limp... still have creases. Is there any way to 'fix' them?

Sorry for the amateurish questions if they have been asked and answered millions of times.

Update on the UO Unbranded Tapered joints I asked about...

I brought them to a local tailor. She's going to taper them a little more from the knee down without altering the leg opening!

Doing it from the inside seam also. I'll be picking them up a week from today so hopefully everything goes well! Will keep you guys informed.

It all depends on the rise and the amount you sag.

A high rise pair of jeans, when sagged, will produce the diaper effect. So if you're a sagger, better to steer clear from the high rise jeans.

Just bought a pair of cheap raws to experiment with. Do I wash/soak them first to get rid of excess dye before wearing them or do I just wear them for the 6 months before the wash?
