thanks blushing should i stick to 30 with the NC ?
Jan 03, 2010 @ 11:30
^ Probably, although some people will only size down one on the NC. Depends on the look/fit you are going for.

thats exactly what i was saying
hes saying apc store measured him and hes a 34
but he can fit into 29 nc
somethings wrong

ok so i found out my true waist is a 31-32

and i got a size 30 in new cures

the smallest i could fit in was a 29 but they were tight

did i size right?
Jan 04, 2010 @ 00:10
^ sounds about right, the waist will stretch out a bit later on anyways.
Jan 04, 2010 @ 18:17
Yeah that makes a lot more sense, sounds like you got it right.

Is it best to soak all raw denims? I'm about to pick up some Sugarcane 47's, do I soak those?
Jan 05, 2010 @ 07:58
^only need to do initial soak if the denim is unsanforized, 47's r sanforized so no need
Jan 05, 2010 @ 11:23
The 47's are unsanforized. They do have one wash versions tho.

how do apc ns's fit compared to 501 stf? i wear stf but want a slimmer denim looking at ns sized down 2-3 or nc sized down 1. (skinny 5'4-5'5 115pds)

thinking about giving it a soak

NS sized down 2 is definitely slimmer than a 501 cut, just depends how slim you wanna go.

I've had it happen, doesn't seem to do very much. For the most part it comes out with some warm water, you probably don't even have to bother with a full soak.
Jan 05, 2010 @ 22:35
wait do i have to soak my apcs before wearing?
Jan 05, 2010 @ 22:39
no
Jan 05, 2010 @ 22:58
also the top button on my apcs

are sorta like popped loose

is this normal or a defect?

like it sticks out an inch and is moving loosely

compared to my lower 3 buttons

i have about a 200-250 limit to spend on denim, and idk what to pick. i'm a pretty skinny guy, 5'6 125lbs ish. what should i get?

i was thinking of getting some flatheads, but idk. any recommendations?

Just got some APC. I was wondering, how do you keep the same stacks after you wash or soak? Cuz after I wash, I usually stretch the legs length-wise so that they are the same length. How can I keep the stacks?? thanks
Jan 06, 2010 @ 19:46
what cut are the levi 501's modeled after?
'47?

Why would you stretch the legs length wise? APCs are sanforized so you are going to get very little shrinkage to begin with, stretching the legs like that is going to upset the way your stacks set. If you just wash them and don't stretch them the stacks usually return to the way they were (for the most part) before the wash, the difference in length should be negligible.

I think you are confused here. The '47 is how the 501 was cut in 1947, they are a reproduction of the 501 from more than 60 years ago. (This cut is popular with Sugar Cane and other brands) The modern Levi 501 has become more "anti-fit" and is thus a bit looser fitting in comparison to the 1947, particularly in the thigh IIRC.

serious question here

can you fart in your jeans? (does it like trap the smell)

or do you have to like pull em down?

I am looking into these Stussy x Levis. It seems they are based off the 1967 505 LVC edition. My gripe is that it says 12oz on that link when the LVC edition are 14.5oz kaihara and preshrunk. Can I assume pretty much that the stussylevis aren't using the same as LVC and that wear characteristics won't be the same? Also these are 33.5raw, is that enough to say that they are STF?

Hey guys. So this may be a stupid question and if it is it's because I don't know much about denim besides a little about levi's and apc. but lately my jeans aren't cuttin it. I usually rock 511s, but lateley ive been wearing some raw indigo 510s, and after about 2 months of 4 day a week wear, they turn to shit. paper thin and floppy. plus i think 510 is too skinny now.tongueface so i was wondering what i should get for something higher quality(for not a ton more money). what's the best jean i can get that fits pretty similar to a 511, and no more than $100 or so? really appreciate some ideas.

ps. i know most of you on here hate on them, but i was at nordstrom rack and tried on some skinny true religion jeans that were only about $110. has anyone bought true religion? do they last at all? thanks.
