You are right. They listed for 5499 got it for 4400 not inluding tax and financing. My down payment covered tax and licensing fees. My interest unfortunately was 12.5 % total cost with financing including down was 6100.00. I'm not trying to brag that I got a good deal but availability in US for a 08-09 is about 12.....
At the end of the day I'm happy with my purchase and price I paid.
Not really trying trying to bash on you but im just stating the facts. Why you would finance a used bike is beyond me tbh. I did that shit once with the first CRF i bought and never again. And you do realize that the SM, whether its an 06 or a '10, its still the same damn bike. Only thing Suzuki ever changed on that bike was color schemes to keep it relevant, everything else is the same. You couldve even picked up a used DRZ400S, Factory Connection forks, and Talon wheel set with new rubber for less than what you paid. And what do you mean the availability in the us for a DRZ/SM is about 12?!?! It honestly sounds like you gobbled up all the bs the salesman was feeding you cause if thats the case, i guess 50% of the SM's being sold must be located in socal.
@Ferris - I gotta side with mercy on this one. Much of what you say is true but to convert a drz400s is gonna cost a pretty penny. Let alone a hassle. From what it looks like with mileage and such he did get a good deal. I am from cali as well and these bikes with low mileage unmodded are not easy to come by at all. Private sellers are charging 5K and up and this is through craigslist. Cycle trader has 1 available in socal. This isnt an R6 or Gsxr where there are an abundance of used bikes on the market. why you knocking him on financing a bike. I have a car and bike thats being financed. Learn your place and stop being some geeky dick behind a keyboard.
@ mercy - dope bike! Looks very clean and well maintained. That bike will last you a good 40-50k miles.
