nice. i was worried that the expired gold that i got was stored improperly and would look like shit but despite being a little grainy im pretty stoked on the results. i get light leaks by taking the battery out of my camera and opening the back of the camera up like a millimeter or two for a fraction of a second. took some practice before i started getting it right consistently. ive ruined a few frames by keeping it open for too long.

can you do that with any type of light, or only sunlight?

You can do it with any type of light except of course that light that is used in a darkroom. Most people do it in sunlight because it gives it a reddish orange tint rather than more white which I and a lot of people prefer.

I really want a T2 but don't have the funds to spend market price these days.

Yo, is there anyone in the NY area interested in shooting a "lookbook" on film? I'm new to the city, have a few rolls lying around, and want to meet new people while I'm out here. Shoot me a message, peace.

went to my grandmother's crib and she gave me these. The two Kodaks still have Kodak Gold in them with a few exposures smokeyface

Nice! My g-ma gave me a couple of olddddddd ass cameras lol, I wouldn't even know how to use them and I doubt they work. They're from the 30's & 40's probably.

dad went to tokyo recently and i tried to get him to cop a mamiya while he was there. got back, no dice. went back into his room and found this old medium format camera. works well enough, though the cloth shutter sticks (it probably hasn't had film in in in like 50 years). i'm taking it to a repair place sometime later this week to get it all checked/fixed up, and got some 120 porta from a local film lab and will try running that through it sometime in the coming week. will post results here later. also, it's been a while, hello everyone.

Gotta question film bruhs, I use my dslr for portrait and other rando photography but was thinking about getting a film rig for some nature photography. Anyone got a decent suggestion on something good but also relatively cheap (under $500). Was looking at mamiya 7 because I want 60-80mm goodness but idk. Anyone else do alot of nature shots with film that has input?

you want to know what nobody tells you?
all pro landscape photographers shoot with large format film cameras. like the old school bellows cameras. the negative is twice as big as any dslr, so the quality is impeccable.

Cheapest. A Speed or Crown Graphic press camera (at the expense of movements, not a good choice if you are interested in perspective control or depth of field control. A basic monorail like Calumet CC-400, Omega, Graphic View II (at the expense of portability, at about 8 lbs., they are a little heavy and bulky for hiking), Bender (if you like woodworking). A Burke and James (good movements, more portable than a monorail, might be a bit ratty). $250.

Cheap. A new Calumet Cadet (a monorail camera). $400. Toyo 45cx. $450. A used lightweight wood-field (such as the Tachihara). $400-$500. A Technika III (metal, flatbed, adequate movements). $600.

Still reasonable. A new lightweight wood-field (around $700), a used Wista, a used Zone VI. The new Arca-Swiss discovery (maybe too recent to find used) and the Sinar A1 (monorail cameras).
