Get good reels, I cheaped out got some shitty steel ones and the learning curve to use them was pretty rough. Store your chems in containers designed for photo chems. You can find them at B&H or other major camera stores. One thing I wish I invested in was a film squeegee, I use my fingers but it really doesnt do much and I get water spots.Originally posted by Inactive Userany tips on developing at home? anything like chemical upkeep, hanging negatives
(i'm starting with b&w development because i can't think of a way to maintain a high temperature for color developing chemicals)
WELL HERE THAT MOTHERFUCKER IS
Great photos man. Usually if a lab is scanning for you, there is minimal amount of process work on your end unless you feel like it needs to be done. Maybe they messed up this time.films are back, loved the sharpness of the biogon 28mm.
the perspective seems to work so fine with vertical shots as well. this is my first time using a 28mm prime and I thought I would take more time getting used to it... I think I might handle this one as my only lens until I have enough money to get the 45mm f2 planar.
also, switching labs now for sure. they fucked up big time scanning these shots.
edit: just found out what they did, they developed it correctly but scanned the neg as a color film, not monochrome. the films came with some weird magenta/yellow hues. I changed it to BW and corrected the white/black points in lightroom. is it common procedure? lol

and about the 28 2.8, its a great lens, I'm so used to the 28mm focal length. It's so versatile. The zeiss lens for the g2 are some of the sharpest and truest lens out there. Theres almost no distortion. I have the canon 28mm 1.8 on my 5d mkii it still distorts the edges. I love my g2, such a fun camera to shoot with. I'm also saving up for 45 f2
just got a couple more rolls back from the same lab. colors look too washed out and the scanned jpegs too flat. might be time to invest in a scanner. shame they're so pricey here in Brazil...
the 45 can wait... lol
