So yeah.. finally got my first roll developed.. I believe it's fuji Superia 400, the film is expired by a few year (mistake on my end) so a lot of the photos when I scanned them looked like shit. If anyone has vuescan and knows how to get good quality scans please let me in on your secret lol.

Free? Ha! I had just bought my V600 and already blew $150 to only find that I needed to spend another $80 to actually get the scanner working properly with my mac -_-

^really love the composition on your shots dude. you can tell these arent just random snapshots, but thought out pictures...the last 2 specifically. that green tree in the middle looks really good contrasting against the black, and the piles of dirt in front compliments it as well. my only .02 is to crop the 2nd to last pic a cm from the right, and align the middle wire right in with the corner of the frame.

word ima try that. I kinda like when a picture isn't perfectly groomed though. It gives it a kind of ephemeral quality. sort of like the fact that everything isn't in its right place means it is more brief of a moment and more worthy of looking at.

expired film looks really cool sometimes, but i can't really tell what you're taking a picture of in the first one (no hate)
Thanks for telling me! Picture 1 is a double exposure; 1st Exposure: Guava tree 2nd Exposure Koi pond. Picture 2 is of a Polaroid spectra 2.

find myself alternating between taking scans in totally flat and scans with some contrast. still not really sure which i prefer, as long as i'm getting similar results on the back end. slowly realizing scanning is just as much of an art as taking the actual picture is. i'm also realizing that people have never considered the fact that currently, analog is scaling with digital. our scans we are getting now out of our negs are much better than the scans people used to get, and the control we have over our images is so much stronger than before. digital hasn't fully outpaced analog, so in the mean time i'm just enjoying the art of it all.

since i quit the local rite-aid, been looking long and hard to find a local place that develops film (or has employees who know how to use the machines) for cheaper than $15/roll. took a long time

good shit everyone, as always.
