Last year, ADER error and PUMA teamed up for a rugged blacked-out take on the Trailfox Overland, a chunky footwear staple from the ’00s. Now, PUMA is reimagining the retro silhouette with a lot more color. Featured are the colorways “Burnt Russet” and “Golden Rod,” glossing over an array of functional trek-inspired details.
Starting at the top, batted nylon is seen over thin ripstop straps in the form of a heel pull and a central eyelet section placed over the tongue. Around the upper tongue is an adjustable drawcord system that comes with round elastic laces so wearers can adjust the fit to their liking. “PUMA” branding is stamped over a slanted black pentagonal panel at the sidewalls, complemented by lush suede materials covering the tongue, upper quarters and toe box. Sitting below are smooth full-grain leather mudguards with protective waterproof overlays around the heel and forefoot. All of these features sit above a large midsole that’s detailed with a bevy of geometric ridges, while a highly treaded outsole offers optimal traction against tough terrains.
PUMA’s Trailfox Overland in “Burnt Russet” and “Golden Rod” are currently available at atmos’ website for approximately $132 USD.
