A stripped-back take on Nike‘s tried-and-true Air Max Plus, the Air Max Plus Deconstructed interprets the original model’s roadman-approved style in a whole new fashion. Now, following up its summertime debut, it’s surfaced in two new styles: one an “Electro Orange” that’s a clever nod to old Nike shoeboxes, the other a time-honored mix of black and anthracite.

The focal point of both pairs is a thin upper constructed of a crinkled synthetic material. Texture is provided by a heavy dose of embroidered lines, which combine with tonal high-gloss accents to acknowledge the OG Plus’s heavily layered upper and signature wavy palm tree-inspired overlays. Both the heel and the tongue’s jeweled badges have also been removed, swapped out for flat stamped iterations that are more in line with the deconstructed look.

The main semblance of similarity with the original model arrives on the bottom half, however, provided by an unchanged midsole and outsole. This is used for a contrasting grey shade of grey on the “Electro Orange” and a chance to further the tonal machinations on the black pair.

Part classic, part new-jack, and entirely unique, both of these new Air Max Plus Deconstructed colorways are available at Nike stockists like Sneakersnstuff. Retail is set at $180 USD.
