Jordan Air Zoom Renegade
Description
Jordan Brand‘s forte may be high-performance basketball shoes and its Air Jordan retro line, but the Jumpman often extends its product offerings into the running and training sphere as well — the latest result of which is the Air Zoom Renegade. A lightweight distance shoe that in many ways is a Jordan version of Nike Running‘s Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT%, the Renegade mixes a low-bulk build with a high energy return cushioning setup.

Debuting in an “Infrared 23” color scheme, the Renegade uses a translucent TPE upper with a black toe and milky white collar. This is adorned with a duo of printed geometric patterns, and also equips a red Jumpman logo surrounded with a circle, a hallmark of late ’90s-early ’00s Jordan product. Throats serve up an elongated black fabric tag with bright red technical text and another Jumpman logo, with laces secured by simple fabric overlays. A perforated black semi-circle on each side enhances ventilation, and a black heel tab further assists with easy entry and removal.

Down below, EVA foam midsoles are sharply shaped, and dressed in two-tone black and white. In the middle of these foam folds sits a snappy, firm plastic plate, which works with the two large red Zoom Air pucks in each shoe’s forefoot to provide ultra-responsive cushioning and exemplary spring. Finally, outsole tread under these Zoom units denotes their placement with circular Nike Shox-esque patterns to round off the look.

The Jordan Air Zoom Renegade “Infrared 23” is available now via Nike Japan, and is priced at a tax-included ¥17,050 JPY (approximately $160 USD).
