Starting out in the hip streets of Harajuku, Japan, BAPE has been dominating the steetwear scene since its inception back in 1993. Over the years, the label has managed to infuse its unique codes into every major city around the world, seeing everyone from celebrities, athletes and influencers alike rocking the infectious BAPE CAMO and sporting the label’s ubiquitous APE Head motif.
Throughout the years of its existence, BAPE has put out numerous sought-after collaborations one after another, and this time around the revered label has teamed up with world class German swimwear brand Arena. The special capsule is comprised of key innovative swimwear pieces from Arena — for both men and women — which have then been dressed in BAPE’s ubiquitous ABC CAMO print in green, blue and pink. Men’s offerings include various swim trunks, while the ladies can choose from either a two-piece or one-piece suit.
In-pool gear are not the only items offered up as a range of sports jackets, T-shirts, tank tops and shorts are also included. The aforementioned apparel are dressed in a color palette of either black or white, while red BAPE and Arena co-branding have been strewn throughout helping to add an elevated touch. Additionally swim equipment is included such as a pair of goggles, a mesh bag, towel, swim cap, flip-flops, and a kick board shaped as BAPE’s Ape Head logo.
Interested fans will be able to purchase the BAPE x Arena capsule starting this Saturday, August 24 when it hits BAPE retailers around the world and bape.com. The items will range from ¥2,200 JPY to ¥24,000 JPY (approximately $21 USD to $226 USD). The kick board will not be available in store and will be built-to-order for purchase. The order period will start Saturday, August 24 until Sunday, September 8 with delivery expected for early October.
