adidas keeps the throwback iterations coming, reworking the archival OZWEEGO and LXCON silhouettes with contemporary updates. The new sneakers see a bevy of modern tech adjustments while maintaining the nostalgic looks of the original ’90s models.
Powered by the past, the sneakers are part of a pack rendered in an array of bold colorways paletted in hues of orange, lime, purple, black, white and beige. The latest OZWEEGO is an adaptation of the OZWEEGO 3 from 1998. Topped with mesh and leather uppers, the sneaker comes with semi-translucent pipes that run through the lace cage and wrap around the heel, while a raised heel and reinforced lace cage top off the trainer.
The LXCON sees a similar build, except slightly sleeker and more lightweight. Putting together leather and mesh uppers, translucent piping, flat laces and neoprene cushioning, the silhouette is decked with modern performance materials that have been put together in the shape of the retro runner. Both silhouettes have been given a sturdy adiPRENE midsole, rounding up the designs of the archival pieces.
These throwback adidas OZWEEGO and LXCON colorways are expected to release globally on August 8 at adidas.com.
