Nicki Minaj to Star in Six-Part HBO Max Docu-Series
Spotlighting the superstar rapper/singer’s personal life and career trajectory.
Nicki Minaj has announced that she’ll star in an original HBO Max docu-series. Headed by Emmy-nominated director Michael John Warren, who’s also responsible for JAY-Z‘s cult classic Fade to Black documentary, the series will explore the superstar singer/rapper’s personal and professional life over the course of six 30-minute long episodes.

In a Twitter post announcing the show, Minaj — whos breakthrough album Pink Friday celebrates its 10th anniversary this month — said that it would give fans a “raw, unfiltered look” at her life and journey through the music industry. HBO Max Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey followed up Minaj’s reveal with an official statement in which she noted “Nicki Minaj is a multi-faceted artist, businesswoman, and innovator as well as a force to be reckoned with. It’s a privilege to bring this project to HBO Max and provide our viewers with unprecedented access to her life.”
The currently untitled series will be executive produced by Minaj and Warren alongside Cassandra Butcher, Aaron L. Gilbert and Brenda Gilbert of BRON Life. Irving Azoff, Tommy Bruce and Creative Wealth Media have also received executive producer titles.
